Moldovan, Turkish officials approach cooperation relations

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon today met Ahmet Yildiz, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, former foreign policy advisor to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the presidential press service has reported.
The sides exchanged opinions about the opportunities to develop and deepen the Moldovan-Turkish cooperation relations.
The head of state welcomed the constructive diplomatic relations between Turkey and Moldova, which mark 25 years this year.
Dodon thanked for the support provided to Moldova through the Moldovan-Turkish intergovernmental agreement on promotion and mutual protection of investments, as well as via the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency in priority areas such as: health, education, environment, including implementation of several projects on assistance and infrastructure rehabilitation in Gagauzia.
The president got the invitation and confirmed he would participate in summit of heads of state and government of the BSEC, due in Istanbul on 22 May 2017.
At the same time, Dodon informed about preparation for official visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Chisinau on 5 May 2017.
At the end of the meeting, the president received a gift from the Turkish President on birthday that Dodon has recently celebrated, and congratulations from all representatives of Turkey’s top leadership.
