Moldova, Turkey mark 25 years of diplomatic relations

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/- A book exhibition entitled: “25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Moldova and Turkey” was inaugurated at the National Library on 20 February.
The event was organsied by the Culture Ministry in partnership with the National Library, Foreign and European Integration Ministry and Turkish Embassy in Chisinau.
National Library director Elena Pintilei said that the 200 books refered to statehood of Turkey, diplomacy, history, culture and civilization, people and traditions, settlements, cities, places of interest, art, Turkish language and literature. The exhibition includes books written by former Moldovan ambassadors to Turkey on historical topics related to the Moldovan-Turkish relations.
In her speech, Culture Minister Monica Babuc said that the event continued the cultural actions meant to boost cooperation relations between the two states. At the same time, the official noted that as a result of signing the cooperation agreement on culture between Moldova and Turkey, the Culture Ministry had a beautiful collaboration with the Turkish embassy in Chisinau.
Secretary General of the Foreign and European Integration Ministry Anatol Vangheli said that the diplomatic relations between the two countries were developed under the sign of harmony, mutual respect and friendship. In this context, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey Ahmet Yildiz found that the Moldovan-Turkish relations developed harmoniously in all areas – political, economic and cultural, and Turkey provided support to Moldova in all international institutions.
Diplomatic relations between Moldova and Turkey have been set on 3 February 1992.
