Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/- Liberal Democrat MP Chiril Lucinschi submitted his parliamentary mandate. The statement was made at a news briefing today.
At the same time, Lucinschi noted he would submit an application to withdraw from the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova.
According to the MP, the decision was taken for reasons that he would not want to damage the image of a TV channel, holding 25 per cent of its shares.
“Along with an international association we have agreed to contribute to implementing a project to reform a TV channel, so I decided to give 75 per cent of the channel’s shares to an association of journalists. Under the project, I will hold a minority of shares. However, I decided to submit my MP mandate, because this activity is incompatible with the status of politician,” he said.
Lucinschi has been MP of the Liberal Democrats faction since December 2010.
