Moldovan cabinet rules to increase salaries of community social assistants by 20 per cent

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved a 20-per cent increase in salaries for community social assistants starting from 1 January 2017, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

Those over 1,150 community social assistants working in Moldova will benefit from higher wages. Financial means worth 12.6 million lei are approved in 2017, to increase the remuneration of this category of wage earners.  

At the same time, the amendments and completions to the government decision on the conditions for paying wages to the budgetary units’ staff regulates the way prizes are provided to all the staff of the institution; so far, this way has been established only for the head. The prizes will be paid at the expense of saving the money meant for remunerating the work for the concerned year and the quantum of a one-off prize cannot exceed the position salary of the employee.
