Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/- Drivers who held until 1 November 2016 vehicles with plates issued in administrative-territorial units from Transnistria and Bender will be able to place them on import customs regime, regardless of the term of exploitation, by paying excise duty amounted to 30 per cent of the excise duty set for 2016, according to a government decision which will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 24 February.
The vehicles can be cleared through customs without presenting the original documents according to which they entered Moldova.
The state-owned enterprise “Registru” will conduct registration of these vehicles under the documents and customs certificate.
According to information by insurance companies licensed in Moldova, in 2016 holders of transport units from the Transnistrian region purchased about 16,000 insurance policies of vehicle liability, which shows that this number of cars is moving on the right bank of the Dniestre. Most of them hold power of attorney issued by so-called structures in Transnistria.
