The total expenditure amounted up to 425 million lei, which consisted 50 per cent more than in 2015. The increase in expenses is due to extending the list of subsidized medicines and increasing the number of beneficiaries," reads a release of CNAM.
The largest share of subsidized medicines returned treatment of cardiovascular diseases (35.5 per cent) and diabetes mellitus (27.9 per cent). Currently, subsidized medicines list includes 134 common international items of medicines.
