Moldova, Italy to identify new cooperation initiatives in European integration

Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Daniela Morari today met Italian Ambassador to Moldova Valeria Biagiotti, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media relations service has reported.
The officials exchanged opinions about the priorities of Moldova’s European agenda. They presented the Moldovan authorities’ views on development prospects of the Eastern Partnership, preparation and expectations of the EaP Summit in November 2017.
Valeria Biagiotii voiced support for Moldova’s transformation agenda, and noted Italy’s willingness to continue backing authorities and citizens of the country, according to the provisions of joint declaration of foreign ministers in European integration of 15 October 2014. Morari proposed to identify new cooperation initiatives in European integration, highlighting areas in which expertise and development assistance of Italy would facilitate implementing measures of the new action plan on implementation of EU-Moldova Association Agreement.
The Italian official informed about events due to be organized in Chisinau on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome. Morari said that such events were welcomed and contributed to promoting the visibility of EU in Moldova. In the same context, the official opted for identifying common actions that might be organized on the occasion of Europe Day in Moldova.
