Consultations between foreign ministries of Moldova, Azerbaijan held in Baku

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Lilian Darii held a round of consultations with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov in Baku on 28 February.
According to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and media relations service, the officials focused on the current state and prospects for development of bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest. They noted the ascending dynamics of the bilateral political dialogue, which constitutes a solid foundation for boosting economic cooperation, cultural and humanitarian ties. In this context, they mentioned the necessity to make efficient preparations and hold the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation this year.
Deputy Ministers also underlined the need to maintain the effective interaction of two countries within the frameworks of international organizations, particularly in the resolution of protracted conflicts.
During the visit to Azerbaijan on 27-28 February 2017, Deputy Minister Darii held a number of meetings with Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilham Ardabil oglu Kuliyev.
