Moldovan PM says IMF's openness worth being appreciated

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting, offered thanks to the team of negotiators of the International Monetary Fund for the efforts and constructiveness proved during the mission of evaluating Moldova’s Agreement with IMF, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
“We are happy with the well-disposed attitude and the positive results highlighted. Today, I want to offer thanks, first of all, to the members of the International Monetary Fund’s team, as the so much openness we enjoy on behalf of the Fund is worth being appreciated. We worked day and night, in the direct sense of the word, given the difference of the meantime zone with Washington,” the prime minister said.
At the same time, Pavel Filip praised the involvement of the Moldovan authorities in this exercise, stressing that this had eventually led to a positive result of the evaluation.
“I offer thanks also to the colleagues of the Finance Ministry, Economics Ministry, National Bank and Labour, Social Protection and Family Ministry for cooperation, as we have managed to have a good understanding at the teams’ level,” Pavel Filip said.
The PM stressed that he hoped that the staff level agreement, which had been coordinated, would be approved by the IMF Board till late March, and in next April, Moldova will already receive the financial means under this agreement.
