Moldovan wine companies allowed on Russian market can export after getting quality certificates

Chisinau, 06 March /MOLDPRES/ – Those five wine companies in Moldova which got the permission to restart exports to Russian market, will commence deliveries after these receive Russian certificates of quality and submit samples of wines they want to export there. Agriculture Minister Eduard Grama said that there follow procedures which must observe the corresponding companies.
Interviewed by agency, Minister Grama said that "the exact terms of the actual resumption of wine products exports can not be estimated now. Following the inspection visit of Rospotrebnadzor representatives, five companies received the right to submit the package of documents for the procedure for obtaining permission for marketing of wine production in the Russian Federation".
Russian inspection Rospotrebnadzor announced, on 03 March, that five Moldovan wine companies obtained the right to resume exports to Russian market. Two other wine producers will increase their product range that they currently deliver. The decision was taken by the Russian Federal Service leadership after inspection by Russian experts of the 13 wineries in Moldova in mid – February.
According to a release posted on the official website of Rospotrebnadzor, it was accepted to submit wine samples for obtaining permits to deliver products to Russia from companies Cricova, Chateau Vartely, CASTEL MIMI, Moldiugvin and Lion-Gri. At the same time, companies KVINT and KAZAYAK-VIN, which obtained the wine delivery right to Russia, were allowed to present new samples of products that had not previously been exported to Russia.
Asked if we can expect expanding the list of exporters, Eduard Grama said that the Agriculture Ministry is in constant contact with Rospotrebnadzor. "Last week, there were sent to Rospotrebnadzor files of 30 other companies which expressed interest to export wine products to Russia," added the minister.
According to the Agriculture Ministry, there are 11 companies now holding the right to export alcohol goods to Russian market, mostly registered in Gagauzia.
The recent restrictions on Moldovan wines were imposed in autumn 2013. Subsequently, embargo was canceled just for some companies in Transnistrian region. Following the embargo imposition in 2013, Moldovan wine makers had losses of $20 million and turned to other markets.
