Moldovan problem bank's depositors to be able to submit applications on indexation to Posta Moldovei state enterprise

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved a string of amendments on the indexation and way of payment of the indexed sums for money deposits of citizens at Banca de Economii (Savings Bank) stock company, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

Under the amendments, the state enterprise Posta Moldovei (Moldova’s Post) will receive the applications on indexation and will pay the sums established. To benefit from indexation, the depositors will have to present the identity card and the information on the accounts opened till the date of 1 January 1992. If the savings book is lost, the applicant will submit an application to Banca de Economii, under liquidation, to look for the needed information.    

At the same time, the duties of the central commission for the indexation of citizens’ money deposits have been specified. The commission will establish the conditions and terms of submitting the applications, as well as the age category of the depositors due to benefit from indexation in 2017. Also, the commission will consider the information presented by Banca de Economii SA, under liquidation, and will determine the sums which are to be transferred to the state enterprise Posta Moldovei.
