Moldovan deputy premier pays working visit to northern district

Chisinau, 14 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan on 13 March paid a working visit to the northern Soldanesti district, where he met representatives of the local public administration and district’s residents, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported. .
The goal of the visit was to collect facts about the social and economic situation and present problems in the district, as well as to consolidate the dialogue between the central and local public authorities.
In the context, Gheorghe Balan informed the public about the support provided to the Soldanesti district within government development programmes, about the reforms aimed at the country’s modernization. Balan gave assurances that the cabinet would further provide the needed backing to overcome the current difficulties, fight corruption, shadow economy, in advancing on the way of settling the Transnistrian conflict, etc.
Gheorghe Balan said that more settlements from the Soldanesti district had benefitted from financial assistance within the programme of activities for Moldova’s reintegration: the villages Climauti, Vadul-Rascov, Socola, Salcia, where social buildings, roads, heating and drinking water supply systems were repaired, etc.
The deputy prime minister urged the local public authorities to more actively get involved in the implementation of policies aimed at improving the living of the citizens, modernizing the public services provided and at developing the country’s infrastructure.
In the dialogue with citizens, Gheorghe Balan said that the implementation of correct and efficient policies of settlements’ development was decisive for the country’s flourishing, for strengthening the capacities of assimilating external funds and monitoring their efficient and transparent implementation, for creating friendly conditions for the work and professional development for Moldovan young people, new jobs and decent salaries.
The deputy prime minister also informed about the developments in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process. He drew attention to the boosting of the bilateral dialogue with Ukraine, especially in promoting both countries’ sovereignty and territorial integrity, to fostering the cooperation at border, including by setting joint control at the checkpoint Kuchurgan-Pervomaysk.
In this context, Gheorghe Balan specified that the introduction of joint control at the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border checkpoints on the central Transnistrian segment was, first of all, a way of modernizing and simplifying the control of the flows of goods and persons who cross the border.
