Moldovan, American officials discuss projects, cooperation

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/- On a working visit to the USA, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur met Moldovan honorary consuls in Washington D.C. on 19 March, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media relations service has reported.

The officials discussed ways of cooperation with honorary consuls to identify and make operational economic, cultural and social projects meant to contribute to promoting Moldova in the United States, including in the context of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations Moldova-USA.

Galbur reiterated openness and support of the ministry for projects of honorary consuls. He pointed out that it was needed a proactive attitude in promoting economic relations and drawing American investments in the national economy, as well as a better integration of the Moldovan communities in cultural projects meant to promote values and culture of Moldova in the USA.

For their part, the honorary consuls were committed to further back the Moldovan communities in the USA and various projects in order to enhance competitiveness of companies and products in the country. Currently, six honorary consuls are working in the USA on behalf of Moldova.
