Moldovan government rules to set monuments in memory of Holocaust victims, soldiers dead in Afghanistan war

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved the setting of a monument in the memory of the Holocaust victims in southern Cahul city. The monument is to be set on the place of a former ghetto from Cahul during the World War II. The spending to this end will be covered from donations and sponsorships, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
At the today’s meeting, the cabinet also accepted a proposal on erecting a monument in the memory of soldiers dead in the Afghanistan war in northern Edinet town.
The monument will be constructed in the Vasile Alecsandri public garden from Edinet. The expenses for the works of designing and building will be covered from the local and district budget.
