Moldovan cabinet approves national strategy of public order, security for 2017-2020

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet, at a today’s meeting, approved a national strategy of public order and security for 2017-2020, aimed at enhancing the protection of person, safety of the society and state, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The document’s goal is to improve the quality of services for ensuring public order and citizens’ security, including by involving the civil society in fighting the phenomenon of offence. At the same time, the enforcement of the strategy is aimed at developing the system of professional training of law-enforcement bodies’ employees and setting a modern system of public order and security, able to enhance the residents’ confidence and consolidate the society’s protection.
Also, the domestic and external threats to the public order and security are identified in the strategy approved, which also contains solutions needed for developing capacities of preventing offences and ensuring interoperability of the law-enforcement bodies.
In this respect, the strategy proposes to carry out a string of actions, among which: optimization of public services and eliminating bureaucracy; improving the process of documentation of traffic accidents by use of information technologies, as well as the development of capacities of fighting information crimes.
The costs for the implementation of the Strategy’s action plan will be covered from the state budget and from funds provided by development partners.
