Moldovan deputy premier meets German Landtag delegation

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan met today with members of Landtag delegation of the German federal state of Bavaria, being in a visit to Moldova for documentation.

According to the Bureau of reintegration policies, the Deputy PM thanked the guests for their interest and support given to Moldova in its efforts of modernisation, democratisation and integration into EU.

The interlocutors referred to the current situation in the Transnistrian settlement process, developments in the negotiation process and other aspects of the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol.

There were reviewed reforms initiated by Moldovan justice, fighting corruption, public administration reform, improving the situation in the banking sector, regaining the confidence population and external partners.

Deputy Prime Minister stressed the important role and active involvement of international partners, particularly the Federal Republic of Germany in the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and political and economic support to Moldova.
