Regulation under which policemen to get 25 per cent of fines imposed to be published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - The regulation under which the employees of Interior Ministry’s (MAI) General Police Inspectorate (IGP) are going to quarterly benefit from 25 per cent of sums of fines imposed and collected in the state budget will be published in the 24 March issue of Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
According to the document, the money will be distributed from the IGP budget.
Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan has earlier said that “the draft is aimed at strengthening and optimizing the capacities of preventing and fighting corruption, enhancing the citizens’ trust in policemen, as well as at financially stimulating the employees.”
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the MAI public relations directorate, Alina Zbanca, said that “the IGP employees are to receive the first remunerations in next April.”
MAI data shows that, in 2016, ascertaining agents of the IGP’s National Patrol Inspectorate compiled about 263,000 reports on contravention, of which more than 228,000 were paid in the overall amount of 82.6 million lei.
