Strategy on employment for 2017-2021 to be published in Official Journal of Moldova

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/- The strategy on employment for 2017-2021 will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 7 April.

The strategy has as a priority creating opportunities to formal, non-discriminatory and productive employment, developing human capital for increased employment opportunities, better governance of the labor market and potential of migration for sustainable development.

Thus, the measures will focus on facilitating access to credits for Small and Medium Enterprises by providing financial guarantees, boosting the creation and development of business partnerships, financing businesses created and managed by women, developing a tool for reintegration of returning migrants.

At the same time, the actions will be meant to boost employ young teachers, to extend and develop industrial parks, set occupational standards etc.

The actions will be aimed at stimulating employment in the agribusiness sector, namely, carrying out awareness campaigns of economic entities on subsidizing farmers, increasing employment opportunities in rural tourism, creating groups of producers in vegetable and beekeeping sectors and others.

The strategy provides for a labor market observer responsible for carrying out analysis in economic, employment, demography, human resources and labor market forecasts.

According to data by the Labor, Social Protection and Family Ministry, the employment rate of people was 40.3 per cent in 2015, the rate of population left abroad for work or looking for a job is 18.9 per cent, formal labor employment rate – 65.2 per cent, unemployment rate – 4.9 per cent and unemployment rate among young people aged between 15 and 29 years – 9.7 per cent.
