Moldova, Russia mark 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties' establishment

Chisinau, 06 April /MOLDPRES/ – On occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Moldova and the Russian Federation, foreign ministers of the two countries, Andrei Galbur and Serghei Lavrov, exchanged congratulatory messages today.
According to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service, in his message, the Head of the Moldovan diplomacy Andrei Galbur noted the consistent bilateral cooperation in various fields, expressing conviction that the Moldovan-Russian relations to be based on the principles laid down in the Treaty friendship and cooperation, to strengthen and develop the interests of both peoples.
"A separate section is the interaction between Moldova and the Russian Federation in the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, which is based on common interest to find a viable solution based on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova," reads the message of Minister Galbur.
At his part, Minister Serghei Lavrov underlined Russian side's willingness to continue multilateral cooperation based on a pragmatic and mutually beneficial partnership, showing openness to resolving current issues on the bilateral agenda.
Moldova established diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation on 06 April 1992.
