Six lawmakers join Democratic Party of Moldova

Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/- Six MPs joined the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM). Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made the statement today.
The speaker said it was about former lawmakers of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova: Nae-Simion Pleșca, Ion Balan, Vladimir Hotineanu, Nicolae Juravschi, Petru Știrbate and Angel Agache.
“Today the PDM meeting was held with the participation of six new colleagues whom I have worked well with over the last year. Each of them are specialists in different fields, and we appreciate their experience. We are very happy that the potential of party is on the rise, including in parliament”, he said.
At the same time, the speaker noted that about 800,000 signatures had been collected so far to support uninominal voting system. “There are enough votes for the draft law to be voted even in the second reading. However, we decided to organise debates on the matter, because so opinions and solutions arise meant to improve the bill. So, on Wednesday new debates will be held as regards the uninominal vote, and will be discussed issues such as: removal of MP mandate and financing electoral race”, Candu said.
Also, PDM spokesman Vitalie Gamurari said that on 12 April a meeting of PDM political council would be held and deputy heads and executive board members of the party would be elected.
