Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/ - A personal painting exhibition by fine artist, deputy dean of the Fine Arts Faculty at the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts Academy Vasile Sitari was staged at the Embassy of Hungary in Chisinau.
The exhibition comprises 31 works: still-life paintings and landscape pictures, made by the author in the last three years.
In his speech, Hungarian Ambassador to Moldova Mátyás Szilágyi said that this exhibition was a special occasion to study art through symbols as a way of understanding the artist’s paintings.
“We notice that the paintings by Vasile Sitari abound in cups. In general, the quite wide symbolism of cup is presented in two essential aspects: the one of vessel of abundance, well-being and the one of vessel of elixir of immortality. The works, “Roada” (The Harvest), “Flori de Liliac” (Lilac Flowers) and other paintings of the artist hide cups as symbol of continuity of the process of creation and life as a whole,” the diplomat stressed.
For his part, Vasile Sitari thanked the Embassy of Hungary for hosting his works, as well as the ones of his colleagues who benefit from the same honour.
Vasile Sitari was born on in the Tabani village, northern Briceni district, on 2 February 1971. Sitari finished the I. Repin Republican School of Fine Arts and the State Institute of Arts. He had exhibitions in Moldova, Romania, Korea, Slovakia, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and other countries. Sitari’s works are in public and private collections of Moldova and from abroad.
The exhibition will be open till 20 April.
