National anti-corruption centre detains seven people on corruption case

Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/- Seven persons were detained today by officers of the National Anti-Corruption Centre (CNA) and anti-corruption prosecutors in some searches conducted throughout the country on a corruption case, in which employees, mayors and economic agents are concerned.

CNA spokeswoman Angela Starinschi said that the detained people were targeted in a corruption case on rigging public tenders and favoring some companies.

“Searches are going on this time throughout the country. It is about over 60 locations. The case includes mayors, representatives of companies, heads of educational institutions and employees of several authorities”, Starinschi said.

Also, the action is currently carried out at the government, one of offices of the Economics Ministry, as well as at the Energy Efficiency Fund.
