Two other EU Information Centres inaugurated in Riscani, Orhei

Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/- Two other EU Information Centres have been opened within the Riscani-based public library and A. Donici district public library in Orhei, according to the press service of the EU Delegation to Moldova.
Attending the event were local authorities and representatives of EU Delegation to Moldova. “It is an important event for residents of both cities. The EU will be closer to local people. By means of digital platform, the beneficiaries will be able to fully use the resources provided by the EU Information Centres, representing a variety of information in such areas as: legislation, policy, maps, teaching materials and artistic literature”, the head of Political, Press and Information Section within the EU Delegation to Moldova, Urszula Pałłasz, said.
At the new centres, pupils and students, specialists in different sectors, as well as the public will have access to materials provided free of charge by the Publications Office of the EU, based in Luxembourg. At the same time, applicants will have access to information and literature, such as – EU’s history, human rights, comics, teaching materials for children, magazines, international treaties, maps etc.
The opening of new centres was possible under the pilot programme of partnership with Novateca programme. This collaboration is an additional contribution to the modernization of public libraries in the country in order to reach more citizens with information and valuable services.
A number of 20 EU Information Centres is operating in Moldova, of which eight have been recently launched.
