Chisinau, 14 April /MOLDPRES/ – About 3,000 policemen will ensure public order and drive road traffic on national routes during Easter Holidays. The announcement was made today by the head of the National Patrol Inspectorate, Liviu Baziuc, at a press conference.
According to the National Patrol Inspectorate’s public relations service, police officers will be near sanctuaries to ensure public security. "Most policemen will be around Cathedral Nasterea Domnului (Nativity Cathedral), for Haric Fire will be brought there. During holidays, we recommend drivers not to ride a car if they have drunk alcohol, respect the speed limit, not park the transport units adjacent to the churches in order not to endanger the proper conduct of the Divine Service and to leave unattended cars or goods Value in them," said Baziuc.
At his turn, the head of the General Public Security Directorate of the General Police Inspectorate, Marin Maxian, urged citizens to provide housing with closed and overseeing systems if they leave, as well as to notify neighbours or other dependents that they leave home. "It is important that the Police be immediately notified if you see suspects on the ladder or in the courtyard of the block. It is also necessary to avoid less illuminated places and to attract more attention to children, warning them not to open the door to unknown people, especially when staying alone at home. Also, people are urged to call 902 or address the nearest police sector or post, whenever they notice tense situations, people or dubious objects that may affect public safety," said Maxian.
During Easter Holidays last year there were about 90 complaints, 14 thefts of dwellings, seven thefts of transport, 13 cases of hooliganism and two robberies.
