Yellow code of cold, frost, rain expected in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 April /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service issued yellow code of cold, frost, rain and strong wind for 18-24 April throughout the country.

On 18-24 April, frosts are expected on the soil surface with intensity of -1-4 degrees Celsius, and 0 -2 degrees in the air. On 22 April air frosts are expected with -1-4 degrees.

Also, on 20-21 April rains are forecast. Northern wind will blow by up to 15-29 meters per second.

According to meteorologists, the yellow code provides potentially hazardous weather conditions, forecast meteorological phenomena (rain, lightning, wind intensification, high or low temperatures, etc) that are common in the country, but temporarily can be dangerous for certain social and economic activities.

Data show that April 2017 is one of the cooler months like in recent years. Unlike 2012, when on 23 April the maximum air temperature reached +30 degrees, record maintained eight days.
