About 30 settlements partially disconnected from electricity due to bad weather

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/- About 30 settlements in six districts are still partially disconnected from electricity, as a result of the bad weather of the past days.
The press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, Diana Turcanu, said that it was about localities from districts - Cantemir, Taraclia, Leova, Caușeni, Anenii Noi, Cahul and UTA Gagauz-Yeri.
“23 intervention teams of Natural Gas Fenosa are involved in the restoration of electricity. At the same time, tree deforestation and branch lifting continued in the last 24 hours. The interventions were carried out by rescuers, carabineers and soldiers not only on the streets of the capital, but also on the territory of medical and educational institutions”, Turcanu said.
Also, rescuers and firefighters intervened yesterday in Comrat city, where several courtyards and basements were flooded, due to the high groundwater level. “There have been made about 60 pumping out of cellars, basements, courtyards and wells. Similar works took place in Cahul district. Such works will take place today in the districts where there will be calls for help. Similarly, specialists continue to monitor the condition of the ponds in the center and south of the country, in order to avoid dangers,” Turcanu said.
According to SPCSE data, in the last 24 hours, nearly 700 employees of the Interior Ministry and 250 employees of the Defense Ministry have been involved in liquidating the consequences of the exceptional situation recorded.
