Six persons detained in file on paid parkings in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - Six persons, among whom the deputy mayor of Chisinau, Nistor Grozavu, have been detained in a file on paid parkings.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the spokeswoman for the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), Angela Starinschi, said that the Chisinau deputy mayor, Nistor Grozavu, today had been escorted to the National Anticorruption Centre, where he was informed about the order of suspect. “The civil servant is suspected of abuse of office in the file on paid parkings and was detained for 72 hours,” Starinschi said.
According to the spokeswoman for CNA, the head of the public transport and ways of communication department at the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), Igor Camretchi, and a municipal councilor who held the position of secretary general of the working group for public acquisitions for the selection of the company to arrange parkings were detained today too.
Three business people were detained in the same file for 72 hours.
Back in 2015, CNA opened a criminal file on the arrangement of paid parkings in the Chisinau city.
For today afternoon, the Moldovan capital’s city hall planned public discussions on a draft regulation on the work of paid car parkings in the Chisinau city. Yet, the debates were postponed.
