Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - About 40 Moldovan economic agents will participate in the Moldova Presents exhibition, due to be staged in the Ploiesti city, Prahova county, Romania, for the first time ever on 27-29 April.
The event is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Moldova, in partnership of the Investments Attraction and Export Promotion Organization of Moldova (MIEPO), Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Prahova County Council and the Association Siret-Prut-Dniester Euro-region.
CCI head Sergiu Harea told a today’s news conference that Moldova Presents was a continuation of the Made in Moldova exhibition, held in Iasi, Romania, in last November. The exhibition’s goal is to facilitate the exchange of experience and good practices, create the friendliest conditions for interaction and cooperation, needed to back the native producers, promote Moldova’s image, boost the trade and economic relations with Romania, as well as with other European countries – all these eventually contributing to the increase of the export turnover.
As for the participants in the exhibition, Sergiu Harea noted that they would represent more activity sectors: food industry, construction materials, metallic constructions, plastic articles, jewelry and accessories, electronic equipments, etc.
Asked why the exhibition will be organized namely in Prahova, Harea informed that “this county is one of the strongest engines of the Romanian economy, with a Gross Domestic Product of 8.75 billion euros. In other words, we may say that the GDP of Prahova is as big as Moldova’s one, but only for a thrice smaller number of residents.” He also said that, of those about 22,000 commercial companies from this county, about 2,000 had mixed or entirely foreign capital and represented 70 countries.
On the same period, a Moldovan-Romanian economic forum will be held in Ploiesti, informative sessions will be organized on Moldovan companies’ access to the EU market and the benefits of the cooperation between Moldova and Romania, in which heads of 28 districts from Moldova will participate, Sergiu Harea added.
