Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/- Ten settlements in six districts of the country are partially or totally disconnected from electricity as a result of bad weather of the past days.
The press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, Diana Turcanu, said that it was about Cantemir, Causeni, Anenii Noi, Cahul and Gagauzia.
“Nearly 900 employees of the Interior Ministry and 200 employees of the Defense Ministry are currently involved in liquidating the consequences of the exceptional situation recorded”, Turcanu said.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip said during a yesterday’s meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations that the crisis cell would work until all problems caused by bad weather are solved.
“The biggest problem remains the connection of localities to electricity. At the same time, even if several local and national roads have been unlocked, there are many trees fallen in the courtyards and streets, making it difficult for transport, so local authorities must be contacted to efficiently organize work at local level. Similarly, many assessments are made in the agricultural field, after which people who have suffered will receive aid”, Filip said.
