Moldovan export promotion organization to finance local companies’ participation in fairs, exhibitions abroad

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ – The Moldovan Import and Export Promotion Organization (MIEPO) invites Moldovan companies to take part in business meetings and B2B meetings during the year, with organization’s support, at trade fairs and exhibitions held during 2017.
The MIEPO will cover the costs of participating in business events abroad, as well as the expenses of the market studies, provide info support for setting business partnerships and accessing new markets. It has a budget of about 18 million lei to carry out export promo, the MIEPO’s press service has informed.
According to the quoted source, the events’ agenda on attracting investment and promoting exports includes 51 international, local exhibitions, business missions and business forums. In this range, 31 international exhibitions and fairs are planned in 14 countries – Russia, Romania, Germany, Egypt, Poland, Czech Republic, Japan, Singapore, USA, China, Belarus, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, India and 20 investment events.
These events will cover areas such as automotive (India), textiles and furniture manufacturing (France, Russia, Czech Republic, Romania, Belarus, UK, Kazakhstan), agro-food and wine sector (Russia, Romania, Egypt, Poland, China), tourism (Romania, Russia, Germany).
The participation in international exhibitions can be organized by MIEPO directly, with a partial or full coverage of the rental costs of the exhibition space and the construction of the country stand. Also, for the participation of domestic producers at international exhibitions, MIEPO can provide financial support in the form of a grant from the state budget, through the relevant associations that applicant companies are members.
In 2016, 350 Moldovan companies received the MIEPO’s support, participating in various international exhibitions, fairs, business missions and study visits. About 1300 business contacts with development potential, out of which 91, resulted in export contracts conclusion, according to MIEPO’s data.
