Moldovan government continues reform of public administration by merger of five state institutions

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved a decision, according to which the State Enterprise Centre of State Information Resources Registru (Register) will be reorganized through transformation into the public institution, Public Services Agency.
Under the decision, the state enterprise State Registration Chamber, state enterprise Cadastru (Cadastre), administrative authority subordinated to the Justice Ministry, Civil Registry Office, and the administrative authority subordinated to the Economics Ministry, Licencing Chamber, are to be reorganized by merging to the new institution.
The setting up of the new institution is part of the public administration reform, which is a priority goal assumed by the government in the action programme for 2016-2018. “To consolidate the institutional capacities needed to efficiently implement the initiatives on modernizing the public services and the principles of the “single desk” mechanism, it is necessary to unify the providers of public services, both at the level of the central public authorities and the local ones,” reads an informative note annexed to the decision.
The general objective assumed by the cabinet, in the context of the creation of the Public Services Agency, consists in improving access to these services, enhancing the efficiency of their providing, reducing the administrative burdens and minimizing the services’ costs, eventually ensuring a stable level of quality of the services provided.
