Activity of Cahul crossing point to be stopped tomorrow for five hours

Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/- The activity of the Cahul-Oancea crossing point will be stopped on 29 April between 06:00-11:00. Drivers can opt for other crossing points or nearby Giurgiulesti customs.

According to the Customs Service, the activity will be stopped to repair the pavement of the bridge between Cahul (Moldova) and Oancea (Romania).

In the context, the customs administration recommends to cross-border traffic participants who have planned crossing the border via the Cahul crossing point to opt for the nearby Giurgiulesti customs post.

Today, the authorities announced that the last three years since the visa-free regime was implemented, over 980,000 Moldovans left for EU countries on the basis of the biometric passport. Only 86 per cent of them returned home.
