Moldovan premier calls for Chisinau’s sanitation mobilization

Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip appealed this afternoon to Chisinau residents to involve in its sanitation activities, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

"I am coming to you urging to make order in the yards and areas of your living, to remove branches and tree debris from the nearby street where they will be collected and evacuated by mobile crews. Let us show solidarity and go out together to a general cleaning action," said Pavel Filip.

The Prime Minister also thanked those who participated in the city sanitation interventions. "We have shown that together we are a force! When we are united and solidary in the face of challenges, we manage to cope with the situation. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all those who in these difficult days for our country have not stayed apart and were actively involved in the elimination of the consequences of the natural calamity," said the head of the Executive.

Also, the Prime Minister Filip urged citizens to refrain from city trips with personal car transport without a strict necessity on weekend, in order to ease the works of intervention teams that would continue the cleaning of the risky streets and areas.

Over 3,000 policemen, rescuers, firemen, carabineers, soldiers, employees of the competent services of Chisinau Mayor’s office, economic agents and volunteers got involved in the liquidation of bad weather consequences. At their disposal there were about 100 special transport vehicles, with a total of about 2,000 lorries with tree debris already evacuated.
