Guaranteed minimum wage in real sector to increase by 13 per cent today

Chisinau, 1 May /MOLDPRES/- The guaranteed minimum wage in the real sector (in enterprises, organizations, institutions with financial autonomy, regardless of the type of property and form of legal organization) will rise by 280 lei today reaching 2,380 lei per month. In the last five years, the guaranteed minimum wage was increased by 1,080 lei and almost doubled.
Under the legislation in force, in case of application by the economic units of the tariff or non-tariff system of salary, the monthly wage of an employee cannot be less than the guaranteed minimum wage in the real sector, set by the government, after consultation of social partners.
The minimum guaranteed wage in the real sector has risen from 1,200 lei, set in 2012, to 2,380 lei in 2017, as a result of a stronger growth by 15 and 13.3 per cent respectively in the last two years.
According to the government decision, the guaranteed minimum amount was set 14.09 lei per hour or 2,380 lei per month, calculated for a full working program of 169 hours per month.
