Moldovan cabinet rules to increase allowances for young medical employees by 50 per cent

Chisinau, 3 May /MOLDPRES/ - The one-off allowance for young specialists in medicine and pharmacy, who work in rural regions, according to the Health Ministry’s distribution, will increase by 50 per cent. A decision to this end was approved at a cabinet meeting today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

Thus, the one-off allowance for physicians and pharmacists will grow from 30,000 lei to 45,000 lei and for the medical and pharmaceutical staff it will rise from 24,000 to 36,000 lei.  

The financial support will be earmarked in four equal installments worth 11,250 lei each for physicians and pharmacists and amounting to 9,000 lei for the medium medical and pharmaceutical staff. The first installment will be paid after the first month of work and the next ones – at the end of each year of activity.

The amendments made to the law on health care aim at creating attractive conditions of work in the medical sector, in order to provide the specialized institutions with qualified staff and, respectively, to enhance their performance.
