Moldovan cabinet to organize events dedicated to Europe Day

Chisinau, 3 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Europe Day will be marked by a string of events organized by the cabinet in May. In this respect, the prime minister in the beginning of the cabinet meeting informed about the signing of an instruction on the actions the Moldovan authorities would undertake to mark the holiday, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Pavel Filip said that, on 13 May, the Europe Day is to be celebrated along with the partners from the European Union in the Stefan cel Mare public garden, where the traditional European Town will be placed. In the context, the prime minister urged all state institutions to participate in the event.
“The activities organized are very important, as the Association Agreement with the European Union is at the basis of our government action programme. We manage to enhance the European Union’s popularity among our citizens and I am sure that, if we continue in the same pace, our country’s European integration will become irreversible,” the PM stressed.
The Europe Day is annually marked by the European Union and partner countries on 9 May. The holiday was established in the memory of the French foreign minister, Robert Schuman, who is considered as the founder of the European Union.
