Moldovan government approves concept on reform of disability determination system

Chisinau, 4 May /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip has signed an order approving concept on reform of disability determination system in Moldova and action plan on its implementation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The project is meant to improve the process of determining disability by ensuring objective and impartial examination of people.
The concept sees restructuring of the National Council for Determining Disability and Work Capacity and applying a transparent case examination mechanism through random distribution of the files. At the same time, new instruments and criteria for determining disability are to be worked out and approved. They will allow assessing the health condition of person according to the international standards in the field. Also, the reform will ensure the electronic records of people who will be given a degree of disability.
The concept on reform of disability determination system in Moldova will be implemented in 2017-2020 with the support of the United Nations agencies, representatives of non-governmental organizations and academic environment.
