Prince Albert II of Monaco meets representatives of all parliamentary parties

Chisinau, 4 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prince Albert II of Monaco, on an official visit to Chisinau, today met representatives of all parliamentary parties. The lawmakers thanked Prince of Monaco for support and Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu offered himself to accompany the official in a short tour of the parliament building, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Attending the meeting were Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, representatives of the parties represented in the parliament and the head of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration, Valentina Buliga.
“It is an honour that the Prince of Monaco be our guest in the parliament and a new step to new cooperation projects, including within the forum of business people,” Andrian Candu said. The parliament speaker welcomed the signing of the framework agreement between the governments of Moldova and Monaco. For his part, Prince Albert II of Monaco hailed the ratification by the Moldovan parliament of the Paris Agreement, which allows accessing international funds to back measures of reducing the global warming.
The head of the faction of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Zinaida Grecianii, said that, despite political divergences, Moldova’s promotion is important for all political forces of the country. “We want political and economic stability for the country,” Grecianii stressed. In the context, the leader of the Liberal Party, Mihai Ghimpu, asked for support and investments. At the same time, a representative of the European People’s Party of Moldova, Valeriu Ghiletchi, said that there were a lot of resemblances between the two countries. The head of the faction of the Party of Communists, Inna Supac, said that “Moldova will be a European and prosperous country.” The head of the faction of the Democratic Party, Marian Lupu, spoke with Prince Albert II of Monaco in French, stressing that Moldova is a francophone state and the boosting of the bilateral relations takes place on a period which fits the country’s strategic interest.
This is the first visit at this level since the establishment of the diplomatic ties between Moldova and Monaco in 2011. Today, Prince Albert II of Monaco will participate in a forum of business people and on 5 May, His Highness will give a speech at the Moldovan State University, where he will be awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa.
