Moldovan foreign minister meets American senator

Chisinau, 9 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur, on a visit to the United States, on 8 May had a meeting with senator, member of the U.S. Senate’s Armed Services and Intelligence Committees Tom Cotton, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

The officials appreciated the achievements recorded during the 25 years of bilateral diplomatic relations and set priorities for future.

Minister Andrei Galbur evoked the importance of re-launching the Moldova-United States Strategic Dialogue, in the context of efforts of boosting and strengthening the Moldovan-American cooperation.

Also, the sides reviewed the national authorities’ efforts to implement the reforms resulting from the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union. In particular, the officials discussed actions undertaken in order to fight the trafficking of human beings and exchanged opinions on the developments in the region and internationally.
