Moldovan, American officials approach cooperation, reforms

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/- On 10 May, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur had meetings with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State John Heffern and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Bridget Brink, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media relations service has reported.

The officials exchanged opinions about the current stage of the Moldovan-American relations and pointed out the importance of relaunching the strategic dialogue and sectoral working groups in the near future.

The State Department highly appreciated the results of the first assessment of the IMF program of 28 April 2017, which recognizes the efforts of the government to strengthen the financial and banking sector and progress in structural reforms.

The sides also noted the joint efforts to combat human trafficking and national authorities’ determination to advance in this area.
