Over 21,000 ballot papers to be printed for new local polls due in Moldovan settlements

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 21,115 ballot papers will be printed for the new local elections of mayors, due on 14 May.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today informed that most ballot papers would be printed for the Mereni village, central Anenii Noi district – 5,064, and the fewest – for the Pervomaisc village, south-eastern Causeni district – 1,149.
The ballot paper with the biggest dimension – 23.4 cm – will be printed for the Mereni village, with seven contenders running for the office of mayor of this settlement. The shortest ballot paper – 12.4 cm – will be printed for the Tvardita town, southern Taraclia district.
As much as 6,207.73 lei was earmarked for printing ballot papers.
New local polls will be held in the villages of Mereni, Anenii Noi district, Hirova, Calarasi district, villages Pervomaisc, Causeni district, Tipala, Ialoveni district, villages Ulmu, Ialoveni district, Racovat, Soroca district and Tvardita town, Taraclia district on 14 May.
