Deputy premier meets Head of OSCE Mission to Moldova

Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan received Ambassador Michael Scanlan, head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova today, the reintegration policy office’s media relations department has reported.

The topics discussed at the meeting focused on the current situation in the Transnistrian settlement process, the actions undertaken to solve the most urgent problems faced by the population on both sides of the Dniester river, developments in the activity of the sector working groups, priorities of Chisinau for the next period, and the prospects for the dialogue development.

In this context, Gheorghe Balan reiterated the opening of the Moldovan authorities to discuss and identify the solutions to the current issues on the agenda of the negotiations, noting that the efforts should be directed primarily towards promoting positive actions in relation to the population and ensuring the protection of rights and the fundamental freedoms of Moldovan citizens.
