Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/ - An ordinary meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), led by the Russian delegation, took place in Bender on 11 May. Nine subjects were approached at the event, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
In the beginning of the meeting, Moldova’s delegation reiterated the need to include on the agenda a subject on starting “measures of ensuring full military transparency in the Security Zone, in line with the provisions of the Ceasefire Agreement from 21 July 1992.” Despite the fact that all JCC components backed the concerned proposal, the Transnistrian delegation, in its usual way, by deviating and resorting to incoherent interpretations, refused to start discussions on this subject.
“Regretfully, we ascertain that Tiraspol representatives proved, also, incapacity to hold dialogue, in order to settle the problem on the illegitimate setting, on 5 December 2012, of the so-called control post nearby the Slobozia settlement in the Southern Sector of the Security Zone, as well as of the illegal post near the Zagornoe settlement. The discussions on this topic, as well as on other up-to-date issues will continue at the next JCC meeting, due on 18 May, this year,” a press release by the Reintegration Policies Bureau reads.
Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission describes the position of the Tiraspol component as inadmissible as to the present format and mechanism of the peacekeeping mission, as this contributes to blocking JCC’s work.
“In the context, we point out that the challenges and the deliberate establishment of crisis situations in the activity of the Commission, Unified Military Command of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces lead to the destabilization of the situation both in the Security Zone and the region,” the press release also reads.
