Moldovan prime minister visits European Town

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip participated at the official opening of the European Town today, organized by the European Union Delegation in Moldova on the occasion of the Europe Day, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
During the event, the Premier said the European development model, promoting unity through diversity, was an example for Moldova, and the European integration project remained the ambitious goal of Moldova. "The governance program is based on the Association Agreement with the EU and the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement. We will continue to implement all the reforms we have agreed on and which are so important. I am sure that our future is in the European Union," said Pavel Filip.
Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, Pirkka Tapiola, referred to the importance of continuing of Moldova's strategic partnership with the EU, expressing the desire to provide the necessary support in promoting reforms and modernizing society. "We remain committed to our work and we will continue to support the reforms because we care about the people here. We will continue to help you reach a level of development that will ensure a better life and a more prosperous future," said Pirkka Tapiola.
The officials visited the European Town in Chisinau’s centre, where the Embassies of the EU Member States presented information on the culture and traditions of the home countries. The guests also went to the tents of the Government of the Republic of Moldova where the representatives of the public authorities organized informative exhibitions on the projects carried out in Moldova with the support of the European partners.
There are planned activities promoting European values, exhibitions, cultural and sports events during May, on the Europe Day’s occasion.
