European Culture Festival inaugurated in Chisinau

Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/- The official opening of the European Culture Festival organized by the EU Delegation to Moldova took place in the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden on 14 May.
In his speech, Head of the EU Delegation to Chisinau Pirkka Tapiola said that the festival aims at presenting an overview of European cultural diversity through various activities.
Attending the event, Culture Minister Monica Babuc said that through culture, as well as history and tradition, we have long been members of the European community, culture being the field joining and exceeding all animosities. According to the official, during this week, the public of our country will be able to get acquainted with several pearls from European cinema, including from Moldova, which has a glory page written in the history of universal cinema.
The event continued with a musical show, followed by a string of activities for children. Also, the movies “Ana, mon amour” (Romania), “Run Lola Run” (Germany) and “Tunul de lemn” (Moldova) were presented on 14 May.
Today, starting from 17:00, movies „Fly away home” (Austria), „Nice People” (Sweden) and „Stranger in paradise” (Kingdom of the Netherlands) will be screened, and tomorrow at 18:00 – “Truman” (Spain) and “Grapes” (the Czech Republic).
The festival will end on 19 May with an opera concert performed by Youth Orchestra.
