Moldovan, Qatari officials broach economic cooperation

Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today met Sheikh Abdula bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani, Chief Executive of Qatar Investment Authority, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media relations service has reported.

The officials discussed the prospects for developing cooperation between Moldova and the State of Qatar in the field of investments. On this occasion, Galbur expressed the commitment and determination of the Moldovan authorities to fully back foreign investors interested in the potential of Moldova.

The sides reviewed ways and priority areas for initiating cooperation. In the context, the Moldovan official made a presentation of the investment projects and goals due to be proposed for privatization during this year.

Also, they pointed out the experience of functioning of the free economic zones and the need to launch cooperation on aviation.

Sheik Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani appreciated Moldova’s interest in drawing Qatari investors and welcomed Moldova’s facilitation of visa regime for citizens of Qatar, noting that this will contribute to boosting the multisectoral and inter-human relations.

Galbur invited his interlocutor to visit Moldova to get acquainted with the investment opportunities in the country.

Galbur pays a working visit to Qatar on 14-15 May.
