Moldovan diplomacy head holds discussions with counterpart from Qatar

Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today had a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, in the context of his working visit to Doha, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.     

At the meeting, Minister Andrei Galbur reviewed the stage of the bilateral relation. He highlighted the positive dynamic of the latter and stressed the wish to deepen the cooperation by exploiting and turning to good account the potential of cooperation, especially in the political, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian sectors.    

The sides said that, in 2017, Moldova and the State of Qatar mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, emphasizing that the anniversary represented an opportune occasion to boost the bilateral cooperation. At the same time, the officials said that the mutual opening of embassies had confirmed the bilateral intentions to edify a lasting and advantageous relation.   

The Moldovan diplomacy head reiterated the importance to diversify and increase the trade and economic exchanges, extend the legal base, as well as maintain good relations of social, cultural and people-to-people collaboration between the two countries’ nations. The minister noted that an important step to this end had represented the recent facilitation by the Moldovan authorities of the visa regime for the Qatari citizens.
