Priorities for new phase of ILO/UNDP Global Migration Programme examined in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ – Representatives of Central Public Administrations (CPA), the International Organization for Migration (IOM)/UNDP, Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova (CALM) and representatives of civil society met at the government to identify the priorities for the third phase of the Joint ILO/UNDP Programme: Integration of Migration in National Development Strategies (MOMID), today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The CPA/LPA, including civil society, views on the programme's priorities and broadly on migration phenomenon were consulted at the meeting. Also, the present participants intervened with questions and proposals regarding the implementation of some actions/terms for the smooth functioning of the Programme’s third stage.
The event presented the Action Plan for 2017 – 2020 on the reintegration of Moldovan citizens returning from abroad and the Government Decision on the mechanism for the coordination of the state policy in the field of Diaspora, migration and development.
The Joint ILO/UNDP Global Migration Programme in National Development Strategies (MOMID) aims to support Governments and partners in their efforts to integrate migration issues into national and development planning processes and provide expertise qualified in monitoring and adapting approaches to migration and development. The programme is implemented by IOM Moldova in partnership with UNDP Moldova, by financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The implementation period is 01 February 2014 – 31 January 2018.
