Moldovan PM meets new EU ambassador to Chisinau

Chisinau, 15 September /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s European agenda and priorities of government’s work were tackled at a today’s meeting between Prime Minister Pavel Filip and new Head of the EU Delegation in Chisinau Peter Michalko, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

The PM wished success to new European Union’s Ambassador to Moldova, assuring him that the government was opened for dialogue and spoke out for an efficient cooperation in continuation. “I am sure that your mandate in Chisinau will be one with good results,” Pavel Filip said.  

Also, the prime minister informed the European official about the reforms promoted by the government and their benefits for the society. “We are a team which can change things in Moldova, beyond the situation in which we find ourselves. We try to move things together and we rely on an objective attitude on behalf of our foreign partners,” the prime minister noted.    

The head of the EU Delegation in Chisinau said that he backed Moldova’s tendency to move forward towards progress and development, following the European vector. Also, Peter Michalko said that Moldova’s partnership with EU went through a new phase, with a more detailed Association Agenda, which offers new chances to promote cooperation and support the reform process.   

At the same time, the officials exchanged opinions on preparations for the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Summit, due in Brussels in next November. In the context, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that he would participate in this meeting, reiterating that EaP was a platform on which Moldova relied very much in continuation.
