Moldovan meteorologists forecast high air temperatures for next days

Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/ - Meteorologists have forecast high temperatures up to +34 Celsius degrees for the next days.    

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS), the hot weather will maintain till 18 September and will cool starting from 19 September, with rains excepted all over Moldova.    

The warmest weather is expected in southern Moldova, where the air temperatures are to exceed +34 Celsius degrees during the day and +20 degrees at night. In the central and northern regions, the air temperature will vary between +27 and +33 degrees during the day and between +12 and +18 degrees at night.   

SHS has earlier prolonged the Yellow Code of exceptional fire danger and left in force the Yellow Code of hydrological drought till 18 September. Given this, more institutions undertook increased protection measures and issued warnings to residents and economic agents, demanding saving water resources and observance of anti-fire rules, especially in forests, forest belts and farmlands.    

According to specialists, as a rule, in September, the average air temperature is by 4-5 Celsius degrees lower than in August and varies between +14 degrees in northern districts and +17 degrees in southern Moldova. From the meteorological viewpoint, the summer seasons continues, on average, till 12-23 September, when the daily average temperature gets to +15 degrees and is further decreasing.    

The coldest September was recorded in 1996, when the average air temperature stood at 10.8 degrees in Briceni, north Moldova, and 13.3 degrees in Comrat, southern region. The warmest September was registered in 1994 and 2015, when the average air temperature oscillated between 18.4 degrees in Briceni and 20.8 degrees in Comrat and Cahul.
